More and more people buy and use their own car.do you think the advantages of this trend for individuals overweigh the disadvantages for environment?

When it comes to the phenomenon that private cars become popular and common among the public, some people may argue that the environment may suffer from such a fact, but I approve of the idea that there exist more merits for individuals if they own a private car.
Admittedly, the use of private cars may lead to the deterioration of the environment. Compared to public transport, private cars could merely serve a very limited number of passengers, but they still emit no less gas than public vehicles do. Moreover, excessive carbon dioxide released by cars may aggravate global warming to some degree, leading to some severe consequences, such as rising sea levels. Nevertheless, citizens may have a better life with private cars.
Initially, the public may enjoy convenient traffic with their own cars. When travelers intend to go to some remote areas for a trip, public transport may not cover such areas completely. Providing that curious visitors brought a car, they would still be free to drive to any place they look forward to. Thus, purchasing a private car should be at the top of tourists’ agenda since it enables tourists to take their personal trips.
Furthermore, driving may serve to help people release their pressure to some extent. In the current era, people are occupied with heavy work, which may bring them a lot of pressure. Correspondingly, some more approaches may be developed to assist depressive people to alleviate their mental burdens. Driving is also a recommendable way since drivers could refresh themselves temporarily, especially when they drive at midnight freely with little intervention.
In sum, the pros acquired from driving may exceed the cons for the environment, considering that driving allows tourists to go to any site they like and provides citizens with a method of unloading pressure.

Due to car emissions,many big cities are suffering the environment problems mentioned above.
However,instead of letting these problems be and eventually deteriorate,actions must be taken to tackle or at least mitigate the threat to our life.I therefore believe that along with the bright sides of private car use,the dark ones still exist and it is everyones responsibility to solve it.

I believe the benefits the cars brought to us is more than the harm they make to the environment. Although we can’t deny that cars actually indeed made some air pollutions (due to the greenhouse emission) and maybe also some noise pollution. We can’t ignore the value of the cars in our daily life. The reasons are listed below.
First of all, with private cars, people enjoy more flexible going –out schedule, we don’t need to passively rely on the public transportation. For example, we can determine the time to set out to work every morning without concerning the public bus time.
Additionally, cars also bring us more enjoyment and flexibility to our life. We can plan a longer distanced car trip with private cars since many worth visiting places have poor public transportation access.
Last but not least, cars assists us to take more care of our families. When you have children or elderly people, concerning the safety and comfort issue, it is better to drive them by private cars since the public buses are always crowed and chaotic. The further example is when our family members have emergencies to hospital, we don’t need to wait the taxi or the ambulance, and we can drive them to hospital immediately for in time treatment.
All in all, having private cars is very important to individuals in terms of the conveniences, enjoyments and flexibility the cars brought to us. Compare to those benefits, I think the environment issue the cars made can be neglected.

Scientific and technological advances have changed our lives. But some scientists in some fields say that scientists are not able to find solutions to the problems they have created. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

We sure live differently from our parents did decades ago. The changes are wide and profound. At the same time, we are facing challenges and problems unknown in the past. Could we find solutions to problems created by scientific development? The answer seems to be no.
Some of the most obvious problems caused by technological advances lie in the IT industry. At a time when we did not have computers and electronic bank services, people took money with them and paid by cash. If they were stolen, only the amount they had with them was lost. But now credit cards are more commonly used in shopping malls and other places, crimes again us have become more serious and caused greater losses to people. A thief may tape the code of your credit card and make a copy of it. Then he could safely withdraw all your money from an ATM machine. Crimes such as this are very sticky to solve because there is no witness and the surveillance cameras give little help to the police.
Another example is the issue of information control with the media industry including TV networks and Internet that give easy access to information without discrimination to people’s age. This has created a huge problem for parents and schools because teenage people are particularly vulnerable to adult materials and information violent in nature. In the past, when most information came in the form of print, it was relatively easy to control what children read. When a parent put away a book unsuitable for children, they were cut off from the source of information. With computer parents could use software to filter bad web sites but could not prevent new ones from appearing every day.
People are working very hard to solve such problems that come along with advances in science and technology, but the efforts are not sufficient and not very successful. Even with the little progress we have achieved, we find ourselves defeated by new problems with greater complexity and in wider scope.
In conclusion, developments in many fields of our life have brought us both benefits and problems. Developments in the banking industry give us greater convenience but making us targets of computer-based theft. Changes in media industry expose young people to inappropriate information difficult for parent’s control. However up until now, we have not successfully found permanent solutions yet.
