more than 1、more A than B
“與其說(shuō)是B，不如說(shuō)是A”
He is more a teacher than a writer.
與其說(shuō)他是作家，不如說(shuō)他是教師。
He is more a close friend than a boyfriend to me.
他與其說(shuō)是我的男朋友不如說(shuō)是我的好朋友。
more than句型
A more than+數(shù)詞，表示“多于.. 以上”的意思。
We have been close friends for more than 20 years.
我們已經(jīng)作了20多年的好朋友了。

B more than+名詞或是動(dòng)詞，表示“不知是，不僅僅”的意思。
He is more than a friend to her. 他對(duì)她不只是朋友。可能還有更多。
They may teach very well， and more than earntheir salaries, but most of them make little or no independent reflections onhuman problems which involve moral judgment.
他們可能教的很好，而且也不僅僅是為了賺錢(qián)，但是他們中的大多數(shù)對(duì)于涉及道德問(wèn)題的人類(lèi)問(wèn)題很少或是沒(méi)有進(jìn)行獨(dú)立的思考。
more than+形容詞、副詞或是分詞，表示“極其，非常”的意思。
My teacher is more than strict with me.
我老師對(duì)我極其嚴(yán)格。
My parents are more than kind to me.
我爸媽對(duì)我非常好。
anyting but根本不
I can call you anything but boyfriend.
我根本不會(huì)稱(chēng)你為我的男朋友。
nothing but只不過(guò)是
You are nothing but my one of my friends，leave mealone.
你只不過(guò)是我的一個(gè)朋友而已，不要管我。
all but
幾乎，差一點(diǎn);除……以外其余都是
She all but accepted me as her friends.
她幾乎就認(rèn)我做朋友了。
but for要不是
But for her help and support, I could not finish my study in theUniversity.
no more ... than ... 和……一樣都不……
Not more than
I will stay here not more than 5 days. 我呆在這里不超過(guò)五天。
no less than不少于，至少
There are no less than 50 person killed in the accident.
在這次事故中至少有50人喪生。
