The Dragon Boat Festival,also called Double Fifth Festival,is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar.It is one of the most important Chinese festivals,the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.
The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan.He was a good and respected man,but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.
Unable to regain the respect of the emperor,in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river.Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan,the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.
Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan,their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.
端午節(jié)的由來
端午節(jié),又稱為五五節(jié),因?yàn)槎宋绻?jié)是在農(nóng)歷的五月五日,是三個(gè)重要的中國節(jié)慶之一,其他兩個(gè)分別是中秋節(jié)和農(nóng)歷新年.
這個(gè)節(jié)日的由來是古代中國有一位博學(xué)多聞的官吏屈原,他是一位愛民而且又受到尊崇的官吏,但是由於一位充滿嫉妒的官吏陷害,從此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落.由於無法獲得皇帝的重視,屈原在憂郁的情況下投汨羅江自盡.
由於對屈原的愛戴,汨羅江畔的居民匆忙的劃船在江內(nèi)尋找屈原,并且將米丟入汨羅江中,以平息汨羅江中的蛟龍.即使他們當(dāng)時(shí)并沒有找到屈原,但是他們的行為,直到今天在端午節(jié)的時(shí)候,仍然被人們傳頌紀(jì)念著.

端午節(jié)(農(nóng)歷5月5日)是中國古老的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日，始于春秋戰(zhàn)國時(shí)期，至今已有2000多年歷史。

端午節(jié)吃什么?“粽包分兩髻，艾束著危冠。舊俗方儲藥，羸軀亦點(diǎn)丹。”端午節(jié)不可不吃的美味食物就是粽子(tsung-tse)。
粽子tsung-tse：Glutinous rice filled with meat, nuts or bean paste and wrapped in bamboo leaves. It is associated with Dragon Boat Festival with historical meaning.The custom of eating zongzi is now popular in North and South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations.
端午節(jié)喝什么?“櫻桃桑椹與菖蒲，更買雄黃酒一壺。”端午節(jié)嘗試一下雄黃酒吧。Adults drink Xiong Huang Wine, which can fend off evil spirits.
端午節(jié)玩什么? “鼓聲三下紅旗開，兩龍躍出浮水來。棹影斡波飛萬劍，鼓聲劈浪鳴千雷。”端午節(jié)最應(yīng)景的節(jié)目就是賽龍舟。“Dragon boat racing is an indispensable part of the festival, held all over the country. As the gun is fired, people will see racers in dragon-shaped canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by rapid drums, speeding toward their destination.
端午節(jié)戴什么?端午節(jié)最有特色的飾物就是香包(sachet)。小孩佩戴香包，傳說有避邪驅(qū)瘟之意。On Dragon Boat Festival, parents also need to dress their children up with a perfume pouch. They first sew little bags with colorful silk cloth, then fill the bags with perfumes or herbal medicines, and finally string them with silk threads. The perfume pouch will be hung around the neck or tied to the front of a garment as an ornament. They are said to be able to ward off evil.
端午節(jié)掛什么?“不效艾符趨習(xí)俗，但祈蒲酒話升平。”掛艾葉菖蒲hang branches of moxa and calamus around the doors of their homes 和懸鐘馗像display portraits of evil's nemesis, Chung Kuei都是為了驅(qū)疾避兇，討個(gè)吉利。
