一、語言表達要簡潔明了
避免使用太多的專業術語和過分復雜的句子。一方面用人單位不會在一份簡歷上花費太多的時間;另外一個方面，簡潔的語言表述也能體現出你珍惜他人的時間。
二、在求職信的第一個段落當中應該明確地告訴對方你是在何家媒體看到應聘廣告以及所要應聘職位的名稱，例如Youradvertisementfor (職位名稱)a Network Maintenance Engineer in (媒體名稱)theApril 10Student Daily interested me。這樣有助于對方了解招聘信息的有效傳播途徑。
三、語言客觀實際。
英文求職信中應避免自己的主觀判斷性的語言和評論性的話語，不要過分渲染自我尤其不要說出與事實不符的能力或特性來。為了避免過多的主觀性描述，你可以在自己的簡歷當中用客觀的數字和引述別人的話語來描述自己的實際情況。

四、重視開頭、結尾。
