稱呼用語
信函中使用的禮節性稱呼很多。一般說來，給男士寫信用“Mr.”(先生)，給女士寫信用“Miss”(小姐)、“ Mrs.”(夫人)或“ Ms.”(女士)。近年來，越來越多的人喜歡用“Ms.”來籠統地稱呼女性，這樣可以避免判斷不清對方婚否等敏感話題所帶來的尷尬，是一種大趨勢。當然，也可以根據收信人的身份，用學位、頭銜等常用詞后綴收信人的姓，例如：Dr.(Doctor，博士)Zhang，Prof.(Professor,教授)Zhou， Pres.(President，經理、會長、校長)Liu,等等。如果對收信人的性別、姓名、職務或其他資料掌握不多的話，用一句“Dear sir or madam”最合適。如果收信人不是具體的某個人而是機關或者單位，則只寫負責人的職位和公司或者機構的名稱，如:The Manager, CP Group或The President，Jinghui Company等。
