　　What is music, no one can explain.

　　Just imagine for a moment that you are sitting in a magnificent concert hall. The

　　You sit quietly with your eyes shut, your heart open. The delicate vibratos of the violins carry you to a mood of heavenly bliss. An airy solo of the flute draws you to the imagination, the notes flow like some jumping swallows dancing and singing calling for the coming of Spring.

　　I like music from my childhood. My father often says when I was a baby I would never go to sleep without soft, beautiful lullabies crooning around my ears . Now music is a part of my life. When I feel tired, disappointed or in low spirits, I usually turn to music. Music, nothing but only music can have so wonderful an effect on my heart, on my pond of feeling.

　　Music comes with us. Where there is life, there is music. Where there is music, there is hope. It lies in everyday life, in everyone’s life, in everything we see, in everything we hear-- in the rhythm of the sea, in the whisper of a gentle wind, in the melody of a bird’s singing, in the harmony of village chimes. You can hear music wherever you may go . A man who doesn’t know music will lose half the world. A nation that pays little or no attention to music will be a sad nation. A world without music would be the one for the dead and devils.

　　So dear friends, let’s open our arms to embrace music and enjoy it throughout our lives. Love music and love life.

　　Hi，I'm Alex from Bei Jing No.80 middle school. It's an honor for me to have this opportunity to share some of thoughts with all of you at this moment.

　　As we all know, Beijing has the opportunity to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Game. We have been waiting for years for this chance to show others around the world to our very home, and show them the combination of technology, history, and environment that we all cherish well. We're pretty satisfied with our nationality, locally. But as I traveled to a few foreign countries, I realize that some children with Chinese backgrounds are unwilling or ashamed to be what they are, because of some unavoidable racism and racial discrimination. And some are just embarrassed because they have black hair, brown eyes and yellow skin; they think being like this makes them look ugly, some even wished that they were Caucasian. It's a sad reality that these people really exist. So I realized that how important it is to make understanding between others and us.

　　So, what does racism have to do with the 2008 Olympics? As I have mentioned, it's a chance. But it isn't just a chance for us to go and show others our culture. It's a chance for us to go and show some people who we really are, it's a chance for us to go and show some people that if they can do it, we can do it, too. It's a chance to let them change their view about us forever, and then they will know that no matter what race you are we are all the same, no race is more better then the other in any field. But this chance only comes for once in a lifetime; let's not waste it. I don't think anyone wants to wait for another fifty years; the future is now. So don't stand there and wait, you have to run to it. Maybe things will happen during this marathon, but one thing is for sure, we will all make it. So let's not lose faith

　　hi, everyone, my name is jia ruxin. i am from shijiazhuang and in grade 5. today my topic is “ my sweet home”.

　　there is an old saying “east and west, home is best.” so, we can see how important home is to everybody. i’ve got a sweet home because it is cozy. my family lives in a flat. the sitting room is the biggest and my room is the smallest, but it is a world of my own. the wall is white, the curtain is pretty, the bed is comfortable and the bookshelf is filled with different kinds of books. in the right hand corner is the zheng, a traditional chinese musical instrument, and on the table is the computer. when i feel tired, i can play computer games; and when i feel depressed, playing the zheng can cheer me up. this is my sweet home, where i can find peace and comfort.

　　i’ve got a sweet home because it is full of love. my dad loves me. he is kind and patient. it is my dad who watches outlook english magazine with me; it is also my dad who is ready to answer my questions. my mom loves me, too. she is considerate and hardworking. every day when i go home from school, the rooms are always clean and tidy. every time when i play out and forget dinnertime, it is also my mom who calls me back with her tender voice, “come home, my little darling, dinner is ready”.
