I have been in university for about one year. during my stay here, i came to realize that university life is like drinking coke. we experience all tastes of life here, sour, sweet, bitter and hot. i am from province, which is far away from here. i often miss my mum, friends, and relatives in my hometown. however, i can't see them very often. so loneliness always keeps me company. i am sad that i can't be there with them. lucky for me, life in university is rich and colorful. with more free time,we can do many more things besides study, such as joining societies clubs, and taking part-time jobs. such activities not only make our life more colorful, but also help us improve all kinds of skills. the university is a society miniature, what we learn here will benefit our future life. our path in life will not always be smooth. setbacks can't be avoided. failing an important exam, break up with boy or girl friend, or refused by a promising company, such setbacks are likely to get us down. sometimes we fell so frustrated that we even burst into tears. drinkin coke is wonderful, despite the undesirble consequent hiccups. it's bitter, sour and peppery, but also sweet. and you'll even feel excited after gulping down a glass. a college experience is part of growing up. we cry, smile, fall in love, get hurt, leave, learn and then we become a better person. university life is like drinking coke. i'm experiencing it. and i know, i enjoy it!

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.
years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courag
everytime i am asked what i want to do in the future. i think a minute and say being a doctor is my dream job.
doctor is an other kind of artist who does human art by fighting with diseases and making people feel good. i think it is a pleasure to try my best to bring happiness to others. it is a feeling of pride and i am fond of it. in modern life, a mass of people work day and night to seek wealth and as a result they ignore their health. it is known that strong body is a foundation of beatific life. i dreamed to be an excellent doctor who can help them have a right to enjoy life again. curing people is a doctor's holy responsibility.
i am chinese. i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. i've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. i've learned about the great wall and the yangtze river. i've learned about zhang heng(張衡)and i've learned about zheng he(鄭和).who says the yellow river civilization has vanished(消失)?i know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇跡)on this fertile land and we're still making miracles. who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our gnp ranks no. 7 in the world? we have experienced the plunders (掠奪) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----china, unyielding and unconquerable!
i once came across an american tourist. she said, “china has a history of five thousand years, but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago, china took the lead in the world, and now it is the us that is leading.”my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise (鄙視) ourselves. we have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. we have reasons to say proudly： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑戰(zhàn)) are great, but our will is evengreater.
i am chinese. i have inherited (繼承) black hair and blackeyes. i have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure, that wherever i go, whatever i do, i shall never forget that i am chinese!
